BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Brooklyn Football Club announced today the signing of goalkeeper Sophine Kevorkian, pending league and federation approval.
Exceptional College Career: Kevorkian had an extremely impressive college career with the University of San Diego and Louisiana State University, and is signing her first professional contract.
- San Diego: Kevorkian was a consistent starter for the Toreros in her freshman and sophomore years, including breaking the single season saves record for her school, with 97 saves.
- LSU: Transferred to LSU for her last two years and earned the starting spot. She led LSU to the SEC Championship match in her senior year while also making it to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament, the deepest run in school history. She lost only once in her 13 appearances while keeping three clean sheets and making 38 saves.
An Armenian International: Kevorkian has represented Armenia internationally, most recently appearing in a 2027 Women’s World Cup qualifying match in March 2026. She made her debut for the country in February 2025 and has earned six caps.
- Head Coach Alex Smith: “Sophine brings a tremendous presence and confidence to the goalkeeper position. Her composure, competitiveness, and ability to make big saves will be invaluable to our team this season. We are thrilled to welcome Sophine to Brooklyn and look forward to seeing her make an impact.”
