Brooklyn, N.Y. (October 5, 2026) — Brooklyn FC Women’s goalkeeper Bre Norris and forward Carlee Giammona have both been nominated for the Gainbridge Super League Player of the Week award for week 8. Voting begins at 1 PM ET on October 5 and ends at 1 PM on October 6.
Both players earned their nominations for their performances in Brooklyn’s home victory against Fort Lauderdale United FC on October 2. Norris made three saves in the match, including a diving one in the 69th minute from a long shot that she tipped over the bar to keep the game level. Norris led her defence to the first clean sheet of the season for Brooklyn. Giammona entered the match at halftime with a point to prove, and was able to score in the 76th minute. Giammona took advantage of a goalkeeping mistake to score the first goal of her Brooklyn FC career with her only shot on target. She also created one chance and won four duels in the 45 minutes that she played.
The Player of the Week winner will be decided via fan vote on the Gainsbridge Super League’s official social channels. Fans can vote here.
Brooklyn FC Women host Dallas Trinity FC at Maimonides Park on October 10 at 4 PM ET. They then have a weekend off and will play Tampa Bay Sun on October 24, their third home match in a row.
