Brooklyn, N.Y. (September 30, 2026) — Brooklyn FC Women begin a three week homestand this week, hosting Fort Lauderdale United FC on October 2 at 7 PM ET, streaming on Peacock.
Brooklyn FC had an off week at the end of September, last playing away at Carolina on September 19 which ended in a 1-0 loss. The team has already played Fort Lauderdale once in this sprint season, losing 1-0 back in August. This match marks the halfway point of the 2026 Gainbridge Super League Fall season, and with a win, Brooklyn could move up a place in the table.
Fort Lauderdale has not won a match since the previous meeting with Brooklyn, losing the last four matches in a row. Their attack is led by forward Sh’nia Gordon, who is now in her third season with the club and has scored twice thus far. Midfielder Nicole Vernis, who scored in the reverse fixture against Brooklyn, was recalled from her loan in the last week and returned to Lexington SC, so they will be down a player.
Brooklyn are without head coach Alex Smith as he completes his Pro Coaching badges, so assistant coach Errol McFarlane will be in charge for the match. The team is looking to get back to the form that saw them win 3-2 against Sporting JAX in the match before. Forward Catherine Zimmerman scored twice in that match and the team will be hoping she can add to the eight goals she has in her Brooklyn career. Captain and goalkeeper Bre Norris is top three in the league for saves with 16 through her 6 appearances.
Brooklyn FC Women are back at home next week, hosting Dallas Trinity on October 10, kickoff is at 4 PM ET. They will have a week off before another home game on October 24 against the Tampa Bay Sun. Tickets are available on SeatGeek.
