Brooklyn, N.Y. (September 19, 2026) — Brooklyn FC Women fell 1-0 to Carolina Ascent on the road. The lone goal came in the 63rd minute.
Carolina controlled much of the game, but the Brooklyn defense did a strong job to keep Carolina even at 0-0 going into halftime. Brooklyn goalkeeper Bre Norris came up with a big save in the 34th minute to tip a shot over the crossbar.
In the second half, Carolina continued to knock on the door and finally got their opener in the 63rd minute. A corner was flicked on by forward Shea Groome, and the Brooklyn defenders were unable to clear the ball off the line.
Brooklyn kept fighting, and kept the score at 1-0 despite Carolina having 25 total shots in the match. Brooklyn won 70.6% of their aerial duels and had 13 more clearances than the Ascent. The attack never truly was able to click, and Brooklyn FC lost on the road.
