Brooklyn, N.Y. (October 2, 2026) — Brooklyn FC Men celebrate Fan Appreciation Night when Rhode Island FC comes to visit. Kickoff is on October 3 at 8 PM ET, streaming on ESPN+.
Brooklyn are coming off a midweek loss at home to Detroit City and will want to bounce back. The form at home has been better recently, with this being the first home loss since August 22. The two teams met back in May, which ended in a 4-1 win for Rhode Island. Brooklyn will be looking for revenge for that result here, now on their home field. Captain Tommy McNamara scored his third goal of the season against Detroit, and has been a consistent leader for the team this season. He has maintained an 85.9% passing percentage, the highest among all Brooklyn players, as well as contributing an assist and 16 key passes. Goalkeeper Jackson Lee also returned to the starting XI last match, who has kept a 67.7% save percentage this season while making 42 saves.
Rhode Island also had a midweek game, winning at home against Indy Eleven. They had lost the two matches before that and the win helped stop their slide. The team lost their striker JJ Williams during the summer transfer window, as he moved to Scottish club Hearts. He previously scored twice against Brooklyn in the reverse fixture, and had eight goals in the USL Championship before his departure.
Looking ahead to the last three games of the season, Brooklyn will then travel to Connecticut to take on Hartford Athletic on October 17 at 7 PM ET, before the final home match of the season on October 21 against Birmingham Legion at 6:30 PM ET. The season will end away at Loudoun United on October 24. Tickets are available on SeatGeek.
