Brooklyn, NY. (August 25th, 2026) – Brooklyn FC is proud to celebrate Juan Carlos Obregón Jr reaching a major career milestone of 100 appearances in the USL Championship.
Obregón, 28, reached the landmark on August 22, 2026 in Brooklyn FC’s last match against his former side, the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. He entered the match in the 89th minute to applause from the crowd, teammates and coaching staff.
A Brooklyn native, Obregón has spent six years competing in the Championship since he signed his first professional contract in 2019. He has made 17 appearances for Rio Grande Valley FC, 53 appearances for Hartford Athletic, 12 appearances for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, and 18 appearances for Brooklyn FC this season. He also spent time playing in Honduras for FC Motagua and USL League One with Charlotte Independence and Westchester SC. Obregon also represents Honduras internationally, including at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Obregón joined Brooklyn in 2026 for its inaugural season and has been an important part of the team, providing offensive firepower and veteran leadership to a brand new squad, including captaining the side. In the 2026 season, he has five goals and two assists in 21 appearances in all competitions.
