Brooklyn, N.Y. (September 23, 2026) – Brooklyn FC Men were beaten 4-0 on the road by Birmingham Legion.
Birmingham opened the scoring in the 14th minute from a direct free kick by the left side of the box. Midfielder Peter-Lee Vassell stepped up and curled the free kick just inside the near post.
In the 36th minute, Birmingham were on another attack, but Brooklyn defender Callum Frogson cleared the ball off the goal line with a header.
Another big chance came in stoppage time in the first half, as Brooklyn goalkeeper Lukas Burns made a big double save at his near post to keep the score 1-0 going into halftime.
Just three minutes into the second half, the Legion got their second goal, as a ball from the right side was cut back and finished first time by midfielder Serge Ngouma.
Brooklyn began to control the game after this, and halftime substitute forward JC Obregón Jr. got the first shot on target for his team in the 52nd minute. He also had a header in the 58th minute that went over the bar.
In the 84th minute, Frogson conceded a penalty after taking down a Birmingham player in the box, and forward Sebastian Saucedo scored it.
Birmingham added a fourth in stoppage time just before the match ended.
