BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Brooklyn FC announced today the signing of former Gainbridge Super League champion Carlee Giammona, pending league and federation approval.
The dynamic playmaker joins after two standout seasons for Tampa Bay Sun FC, with whom she won the inaugural league title in the 2024/25 season.
Global professional experience: A native of Littleton, Colorado, the 25-year-old comes to Brooklyn with pro experience on both sides of the Atlantic.
- Starting in Mexico: Undrafted coming out of college, Giammona joined Mexican side CF Monterrey, where she made 37 appearances and scored 9 goals in all competitions.
- A stint in Scotland: After two seasons in Monterrey, she joined Glasgow City, scoring 8 goals in just 11 appearances as the team finished 3rd in the Scottish Women’s Premier League.
- Back in the USA: One of the first signings for the Sun in 2024, she started the club’s inaugural match. She made a total of 49 appearances and scored 12 goals across two seasons.
A celebrated college career: Before turning pro, Giammona enjoyed a stellar collegiate career.
- Honored at Pepperdine: A star at Pepperdine University, she made 44 appearances and scored 16 goals for the Waves. She earned All-WCC honors twice during her career.
- Roll Tide: Giammona played her freshman season for the University of Alabama, scoring 3 goals, including an extratime winner against Auburn in the 2019 SEC Tournament.
Known for her vision, high work rate, and ability to operate in tight spaces, Giammona adds significant creative depth and energy to Brooklyn FC’s midfield unit.
