Tengarrinha’s View
What adjustments did you look to make at the break, and how did you feel the team responded in the second half:
“At halftime we tried to reorganize a few things, mainly to give the team a bit more balance and composure with the ball, and to be more aggressive in our pressing moments. I felt the reaction was better in terms of attitude and intensity, but overall it wasn’t our day. We never really managed to impose our game the way we normally do, and in matches like this you end up paying the price.”
What will be the main focus for the group in training this week as you prepare for the next match:
“The focus now is very clear: recover, analyze the game honestly, and prepare for Wednesday. When you lose like this the most important thing is the reaction. We have another match very soon, so the group needs to reset mentally, correct some of the things that didn’t go well today, and refocus on what we want to do as a team. Soccer moves quickly and our attention now is fully on the next game.”
Match Reactions
Kelsey Daugherty, goalkeeper, #30
How did you assess your performance and the defensive effort in front of you tonight:
“It always feels good to make a big save but with that result you’re always wishing you could have done more. And I think that’s probably the feeling everyone has from tonight. We always work hard but tonight it just wasn’t there for us.”
What positives can you and the back line take into the next match:
“I think we just have to take the bad feelings we have from tonight and let It fuel us for Wednesday because it’s a quick turn around.”

Jordan Thompson, center back, #16
How do you evaluate the team’s response after going down in the first half:
“It’s always hard when you go down early in a game and even harder on the road. I thought we came out in the second half looking to go forward and kept pushing to create chances. We tried to focus on winning our duels, and I thought we did a good job fighting until the end despite the score.”
What did you see from the team’s overall performance, and where can the group improve moving forward:
“Ultimately, we weren’t good enough last night and Spokane was the better team. Luckily, we have a very quick turn around so we can’t dwell too much on this. Our focus now is on Tampa and doing everything we can to prepare for that match.”
