Brooklyn, NY. (September 17, 2026) – Brooklyn FC honors defender Thomas Vancaeyezeele as he reached a major career milestone this week, making his 200th appearance in the USL Championship.
Vancaeyezeele, 32, made his landmark appearance in Brooklyn FC’s midweek match on September 15, 2026 against the Indy Eleven. He played all 90 minutes in the match, and has been a consistent leader for the Brooklyn team this season.
Vancaeyezeele grew up in France, making his way through the academy of French club SM Caen. He moved to the United States to attend college and played for the University of Charleston, making 41 appearances, before beginning his time in the USL Championship. Since then he’s played for multiple clubs, making 80 appearances for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, 8 for San Diego Loyal, 29 for Birmingham Legion, 33 for the Tampa Bay Rowdies, 28 for Hartford Athletic, and 22 appearances to this point with Brooklyn FC. Internationally, Vancaeyezeele has earned 14 caps for the French Guyana National Team and represented the country at the 2019-20 CONCACAF Nations League.
Vancaeyezeele has been an integral part of the squad for coach Marlon LeBlanc in Brooklyn FC’s inaugural season. He has been extremely adaptable, making appearances in both midfield and defense, being a constant leader in the team, while also playing the second most minutes out of all Brooklyn players in the USL Championship. In the league, he has contributed two assists and also been near the top of many defensive statistics including blocks and interceptions.
