BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Brooklyn Football Club announced today the signing of midfielder Sara D’Appolonia, pending league and federation approval.
An Accomplished College Career:
- University of Delaware: D’Appolonia played a key role in the Fightin’ Blue Hens’ attack throughout her college career. She scored 17 goals in 77 games in her time at Delaware.
- Multiple Accolades: Earned multiple accolades during her time at Delaware including First Team All-CAA in 2019, CAA All-Tournament Team in 2019, and Third Team All-CAA in 2020.
Experience Abroad: D’Appolonia spent time in Australia with Peninsula Power FC and Melbourne Victory in the A-League Women after college.
- She also played for SC Sand in Germany during the last campaign.
A technical midfielder: D’Appolonia adds depth and attacking quality to the Brooklyn midfield.
- Head Coach Alex Smith: “Sara is a very versatile attacking player with the ability to make an impact in the final third. She has an ability to play multiple positions and has the attitude and character I am looking for. We are excited to add her to our team and what we are building as a club at Brooklyn FC.”
