Brooklyn, N.Y. (November 4, 2026) — Brooklyn FC Women host league-leading Carolina Ascent this weekend at Maimonides Park. Kickoff is at 2 PM ET, streaming on Peacock.
Brooklyn FC has never beaten Carolina in its club history, so the women will be looking for a historic result continuing their positive run of form. The team is now unbeaten in their last four matches, with the last defeat being the reverse fixture against Carolina back on September 19, a narrow 1-0 loss.
Carolina has been the best team in the league by far this season, losing just once in 11 matches. Their defense is a massive strength this term, conceding just six goals, leading the league with eight clean sheets and they have not conceded in their last four matches. Former Brooklyn goalkeeper Sydney Martinez has been a big part of this, playing every minute and making the second most saves in the league, 35, while maintaining a save success rate of 85.4%. The goals have been spread out among the Carolina squad this season, with nine different players having scored at least once. Defender Jenna Butler has been another key piece for the team, playing every single minute, leading the team in clearances with 72, also adding a goal and two assists, all while maintaining her passing accuracy of over 83%.
Brooklyn’s unbeaten October brought them up to sixth in the standings and just three points away from a playoff spot. With the season coming to a close, every point is vital and they have been much improved at home, with the last loss at Maimonides Park coming on August 21. Midfielder Jilly Shimkin is coming off of a breakout week, becoming the first player in Gainbridge Super League history to record three assists in a single match and was named Player of the Week for her efforts. She has led the team in chances created throughout the season with 21, which is also the second-most in the league. Forward Catherine Zimmerman has now scored in her last two matches against Tampa Bay and Sporting JAX, with four goals in nine appearances. Forward Ashlyn Miller has also found good form recently, with a goal and an assist in her last two matches. In defense, the introduction of Lauren Gogal and Sophia Lowenberg as the two main center-backs has coincided with the uptick in form. Gogal especially, has been a standout in the last month, cementing her place in the team after an injury-riddled campaign back in 2025/26. After the last match against Sporting JAX, a 4-4 draw, head coach Alex Smith said “We clicked attacking wise so my hope is we can combine our recent good defensive form with the type of attacking display we showed today. Four games unbeaten shows we are on the right track”.
Looking ahead at the schedule, there are only three matches left in the 2026 Fall Season. Brooklyn FC Women will head on the road to face DC Power FC on November 11 at 7 PM ET and Tampa Bay Sun on November 21 at 6 PM ET. They will then conclude the season at home, hosting Lexington SC at 6 PM ET on November 28. Tickets are available on SeatGeek.
