Brooklyn, N.Y. (November 3, 2026) — Brooklyn FC celebrates midfielder Jilly Shimkin after she was named Gainbridge Super League Player of the Week for Week 12. She made history with her performance in Brooklyn’s 4-4 draw at Sporting Jacksonville last weekend, becoming the first player in league history to provide three assists in a single match.
She was a constant threat in the final third, creating four chances and was involved in all four goals her team scored. Brooklyn’s opening goal came in the 14th minute when Shimkin delivered a cross from the left wing to find an unmarked Catherine Zimmerman in the box for the finish. The second assist came just 11 minutes later, as Shimkin nutmegged a defender and drew the attention of the goalkeeper down the left side of the box before sliding a ball to Ashlyn Miller who scored her first Brooklyn goal. For the third goal, Shimkin’s cross from a corner was headed back across goal before being headed in by defender Jackie Richards. Her third assist came in the 57th minute as she slid a ball down the left wing for Richards who finished for her second goal of the game. Shimkin has been a creative force for Brooklyn this season, leading the team with 21 chances created, also the second-most in the league.
Brooklyn FC Women have their next match on November 7 at home against Carolina Ascent at 2 PM ET. They will then head on the road to face DC Power FC on November 11 and Tampa Bay Sun on November 21. Tickets are available on SeatGeek.
