Brooklyn, N.Y. (September 16, 2026) — Brooklyn FC Women head back on the road for another match, taking on Carolina Ascent on September 19 at 7 PM ET, streaming on Peacock.
Brooklyn FC are coming off a massive statement win against Sporting JAX last weekend, defeating one of the top teams in the Gainbridge Super League by a score of 3-2. This was the first win of the Alex Smith era for Brooklyn, and they will be looking to maintain their momentum. BKFC are hoping to get their first-ever win against Carolina Ascent in the club’s history this weekend.
Carolina beat reigning league champions, Lexington SC, 1-0 last week and moved into first place in the standings this season. They are tied for the most goals scored this season, with nine in their five matches thus far. Forward Mia Corbin is the leading goalscorer in their club’s history, and she already has two goals this Fall Season. Former Brooklyn forward Mackenzie George has been a mainstay in the Carolina attack since she arrived. She appeared in every single match last season and has only missed one minute of action this term, contributing one assist. Another player to keep an eye on is midfielder Jill Aguilera, who has two assists so far, and the most in the club’s history. Lastly, goalkeeper Sydney Martinez has been a standout for the club. The former Brooklyn goalkeeper has kept three clean sheets and made 24 saves, both of which are the most in the Super League.
Brooklyn are looking for another win this season, and kickstart their season. Forward Catherine Zimmerman was able to get a brace against JAX, and was nominated for Gainbridge Super League Player of the Week for her efforts. Zimmerman had six goals in the 2025/26 season and she will continue to be an important part of the attack this year. Forward Zee King has played every single minute for Brooklyn up to this point, and was able to get her first goal of the season as well against JAX. Midfielders Emma Loving and Jennifer Cudjoe both got their first assists, and their work rate in both the offensive and defensive parts of the field will be vital against Carolina. Forward Ashlyn Miller also came off the bench to make an impact for the third goal, assisting Zimmerman to seal the win.
After this weekend, Brooklyn will have some time to rest, with their next match not being until October. The next three matches are all at home at Maimonides Park, facing Fort Lauderdale United on October 2 at 7 PM ET, followed by Dallas Trinity on October 10, and Tampa Bay Sun on October 24.
