
BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Brooklyn FC Women announced today that the club has signed forward Simone Charley and agreed to an immediate transfer to Chicago Stars FC of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).
Terms of the transfer agreement were not disclosed.
Charley, 31, is an experienced attacking presence with more than 50 NWSL appearances to her name with Orlando Pride, Angel City FC, and the Portland Thorns.
“We were excited by the prospect of seeing Simone represent Brooklyn FC in the Gainbridge Super League but determined that this transfer made sense for the club on multiple levels,” said Brooklyn FC Women General Manager Samantha Johnson. “This move is a clear indication of the opportunity that exists for Brooklyn FC to operate strategically within the global women’s soccer ecosystem. We wish Simone the best in Chicago and look forward to replacing her in the squad with another talented, exciting player.”
The Brooklyn FC Women kick off the 2026 Gainbridge Super League Fall Season on August 15 at Lexington SC. The home opener is Friday, August 21, against DC Power FC. Kick off is at 7:30 PM.
