Texas native returns stateside, bringing determination and adaptability to the Brooklyn midfield
Brooklyn, N.Y., July 31, 2026 – Brooklyn FC Women today announced that it has signed midfielder Ashlyn Miller ahead of the 2026 Gainbridge Super League Fall Season, pending league and federation approval.
Originally from McKinney, Texas, Miller, 23, returns stateside after most recently playing overseas in Australia with Brisbane Roar FC under Alex Smith, who also has returned stateside as head coach of Brooklyn FC. During the Ninja A-League Women 25/26 season, Miller made 23 appearances, with 21 starts, three goals and five assists. Before joining Brisbane Roar, she signed a short-term professional contract with NWSL team San Diego Wave FC.
“Working with Ashlyn in Brisbane gave me a firsthand look at her mentality and her potential,” said Alex Smith, Brooklyn FC women’s head coach. “She’s a player who always responds to the demands of the game, which is exactly the kind of profile we value here in Brooklyn. I’m excited to continue working with her as we shape a competitive, development-driven environment.”
Known as a leader on and off the pitch, Miller played a significant role during her collegiate career. Before her professional debut, she played for the University of Texas, where she notched 10 goals and 18 assists and helped the team win the SEC Tournament Championship in 2024. Her performance at the University of Texas earned her honors on the SEC Preseason Watchlist (2024) and the Academic All-Big 12 First Team (2022).

Brooklyn FC Women open the 2026 Fall season on August 15 on the road against Lexington SC at 7 p.m. ET, followed by their home opener against DC Power on Friday, August 21 at 7:30 pm ET. Tickets are available on SeatGeek.
