Tengarrinha’s View
What did you like from the game and what needs improvement moving forward?
“First of all, I think overall, with the game that we did, and also with the game plan that we have, I think we did a good job. I think we did a good job without a ball in our defensive organization the way that we pressed. I think we didn’t have the luck of the game after 20 minutes, this score coming from a penalty. They didn’t have one single shot till that time. So this is things that can change a bit the game. And every time that we concede first, it’s always difficult that to turn over. But the attitude these girls, I don’t have any kind of complaints about the group, and the way that we have been doing for the practices, to be honest, I don’t know, because we don’t practice like two weeks probably, so it’s going to be our first week with four training sessions. And let’s see how we can approach Lexington. Absolutely.”
How did you assess the defensive performance today?
“I think they did very, very good job. We started with the back line of five, then we changed it for the back line of four. They had just a couple of chances. I think they have the best team in the league, individually, not as a playing style. I think they should play better than what they do, but still with our tools and with our players. I think we did very well.”

What keeps your passion for the game alive?
“I think it’s just like, since I was tiny, this is always what I’ve wanted to do. I always wanted to play professional soccer, and I think it is just the love of the game. We have a great group. Everybody’s working hard coming in every single day, so we all work together, and it makes it easier.”
How does having multiple leaders on the team impact you?
“I don’t think it’s just me leading. I think we have a lot of leaders on our team, and it definitely makes it easier that everybody steps up and tries to help in any way they can.”

What excites you about joining Brooklyn FC?
“It’s always a joy to play. So I think getting to train and play at a high level is always fun. The group has been super welcoming. I had a quick turnaround coming here, and then we’ve been on the road. So it’s been it’s been good getting to know the girls, getting to compete with them, and training and getting to get a few minutes today was was also good. Looking forward to building with the rest of the squad.”
What does your skill set bring to the team?
“I think I have some grit that I like to play with and so, yeah, not being afraid to get into tackles, even if it’s not pretty getting the job done. I also enjoy creating. So looking forward to bringing some creative aspects to the to the team, to see how we can build out from the back going forward, and hopefully creating some goals.”
