Brooklyn, N.Y. (September 12, 2026) – Brooklyn FC Men earned a 1-1 draw at home against Miami FC, coming back from 1-0 down to earn a point. The team faced a physical Miami squad and both teams had chances, but the game ended level.
The first half was fairly even for both sides as they tried to break the deadlock. Brooklyn goalkeeper Jackson Lee was particularly sharp, making four saves in the first half. The first big chance came for Miami after 10 minutes, but the shot was saved by Lee at his near post.
Just a minute later, Brooklyn had their biggest chance of the first half. Midfielder CJ Olney Jr was running down the left wing and crossed to Malik Pinto, who was left alone at the back post. Pinto, playing at right-back instead of his usual midfield, controlled the cross with his chest and volleyed the ball, but it was straight at Miami goalkeeper Eloy Room.
In the 33rd minute, Brooklyn midfielder Peter Mangione had another chance, driving through midfield, but his shot from the edge of the box was saved by Room. Both teams went back to the locker room scoreless.
In the 66th minute, Miami forward Arney Rocha curled a shot from outside of the box that was saved by Lee. Just four minutes later, Rocha scored the opener, making a run into the box that was not tracked and tapping the ball past Lee.
In the 80th minute, Brooklyn got their equalizer. A cross from Olney forced an own goal from Miami defender Bachir Ndiaye, who put the ball in his own net with his hand.
In the 86th minute, Brooklyn midfielder Abdoulaye Kanté, fresh off a return from injury, was sent through one-on-one with the Miami goalkeeper. He was taken down and a penalty was awarded in Broolkyn’s favor. Unfortunately, Room stepped up to make a save, and the score remained even.
Chances came for both teams in stoppage time but the match ended in a draw, 1-1.
