Brooklyn, N.Y. (September 10, 2026) — Brooklyn FC Men return home to celebrate Caribbean Night and face Miami FC, the last of three matches in a row against the Florida teams. The match kicks off on September 12 at 7:30 PM ET, streaming on ESPN+.
Brooklyn FC are coming back home following a 2-0 away loss at the league-leading Tampa Bay Rowdies and hoping to get back to the positive display they put on last time at home, a 4-1 win against Sporting JAX. BKFC played Miami earlier this year in May, which was a 3-2 loss on the road and included two own goals from the Brooklyn defense.
Miami have been in a poor run of form recently, winless since July 15, with two draws and six losses in that timeframe. Their defense has been a pain point for the team, having conceded 41 goals this season, the second-most in the Eastern Conference. The team is looking to steer back in the right direction after a better first half of the season as they are now six points behind the last playoff spot. They also lost former Premier League forward Jurgen Locadia in the last week, who was their top scorer this season. Colombian forward Arney Rocha will look to carry some of the burden of the attack in Locadia’s absence and has been their second-top scorer with five goals in 2026. Miami is one of the most physical teams in the USL Championship, averaging the most fouls in the Eastern Conference and also leading the way with 67 yellow cards on the season. They also have Curaçao hero Eloy Room in goal, who made 15 saves in one match against Ecuador in the 2026 FIFA World Cup group stage. He has been one of the busiest goalkeepers in the league, but hasn’t been enough to save the leaky Miami defense.
Brooklyn FC would like to take advantage of Miami’s poor form and get their second win in the last few games. The performance against Sporting JAX showed that this team still has the attacking firepower to win games. Forward Stefan Stojanovic is now the team’s leading scorer in the USL Championship with four goals and also scored in the reverse fixture back in May. Midfielder Abdoulaye Kanté returns to the squad after missing a few weeks with injury and will look to make an impact in this match. Defenders Gabriel Alves and Ryan McLaughlin have both been consistent members of the squad for coach Marlon LeBlanc, especially at full back, and will work to keep the Miami wide players quiet. Brooklyn as a team are seventh in the league in average shots on target per match, but one of the lowest scoring teams. They will need to take advantage of the shots that they do have as well as work to create more quality chances for their forwards. Midfielder CJ Olney Jr leads the team with 36 chances created, but after that, the next highest is Stojanovic with 20. The team will need to be more clinical with their chances in order to beat Miami and hopefully move up the standings before the end of the season, as they have an incredibly busy six weeks coming up.
Brooklyn FC Men have four matches in 11 days after playing Miami. Midweek, Brooklyn will play Indy Eleven on September 15 at 7 PM ET before a home match against FC Tulsa on September 19.
