
Brooklyn Football Club Media Access Policies & Procedures
Overview
The Brooklyn Football Club (Brooklyn FC) media access policy outlines the guidelines and procedures for credentialed media at all Brooklyn FC events. These policies are designed to ensure a professional working environment while fostering positive relationships between Brooklyn FC, media representatives, and the community. All credentialed media are expected to adhere to these guidelines at all times.
Media Accreditation
- Eligibility: Credentials are granted to accredited working media on assignment for recognized news organizations, sports publications, or multimedia outlets. Independent outlets, bloggers, and influencers are considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Credential Types:
- Season-Long Credentials: Issued to media covering Brooklyn FC regularly.
- Single-Game Credentials: Available for individual matches upon request.
- Application Process:
- Requests must be submitted through the online form linked on the Brooklyn FC website.
- Applications must include the applicant’s name, outlet, role, past coverage links (if applicable), and a description of the planned coverage.
- Requests must be submitted at least 48 hours before the match.
- Notification:
- Approved credentials will be confirmed via email.
- Denied applicants will be notified via email.
Media Check-In & Credential Pick-Up
- Location: Media credentials can be picked up at the Media Check-In Entrance.
- Hours: Check-in opens three hours before kickoff and closes at kickoff.
- Late Arrivals: Media arriving after check-in closes must coordinate with Brooklyn FC PR staff to secure their credentials.
Access Levels
- General Media Access:
- Credentialed media have access to the press box.
- Field Access:
- Reserved for approved professional photographers only. Photographers must wear provided bibs while on the field. Bibs will be issued in exchange for a valid ID, which will be held as collateral and returned post-match upon bib return.
- Photographers must remain behind the field boards at all times and avoid obstructing the view of spectators, team personnel, or broadcast cameras.
- Movement along the sidelines should be minimal and conducted in a manner that does not interfere with gameplay or match operations.
- Restricted Areas:
- The locker room, player bench, and technical areas are off-limits to the media at all times.
Game Day Procedures
- Press Box:
- Wi-Fi is available for all credentialed media with sign-on instructions provided in the press box..
- Lineup Distribution:
- Official lineups will be provided 60 minutes before kickoff.
- Lineups will be distributed to the press box, photographers, and other media areas.
Post-Match Access
- Press Conferences:
- Held 15 minutes after the match in the designated media room. The Brooklyn FC head coach and two players will be available for questions.
- One-on-One Interviews:
- Must be pre-arranged with Brooklyn FC PR staff and are subject to availability.
Photographer & Videographer Guidelines
- Field Access:
- Photographers must remain within designated field zones (e.g., 18-yard box to goal line).
- Movement between field halves along the player bench sideline is prohibited until halftime or full-time.
- Equipment:
- Tripods are not permitted on the field. Monopods are allowed.
- Bibs must be worn at all times and returned post-match.
- Live Streaming:
- Live streaming from the field or during the match is prohibited without prior approval.
General Rules & Expectation
- Media must adhere to professional standards of behavior, including:
- Wearing business casual attire.
- Not cheering or displaying bias while in the press box.
- Refraining from asking players or coaches for autographs.
- Audio and video recordings must be conducted with prior consent from the interviewee and Brooklyn FC PR staff.
- Violations of these policies may result in immediate removal from the venue and revocation of credentials.
Consequences for Violations
- Brooklyn FC maintains a zero-tolerance policy for violations of media guidelines. Offenses include but are not limited to:
- Unauthorized access to restricted areas.
- Disruptive behavior during matches or press events.
- Credential revocation is at the sole discretion of Brooklyn FC PR staff and is final.
