Brooklyn, N.Y. (October 27, 2026) – Brooklyn FC forward JC Obregón Jr. was named to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 34 after he scored a brace for Brooklyn FC in their 4-3 defeat to Loudoun United on October 24.
Obregón scored the equalizer for Brooklyn in the 17th minute after the team conceded an early goal. JC pressured the goalkeeper forcing an errant pass, and an assist from teammate Peter Mangione allowed Obregón the opportunity to score into an empty net. He scored his second of the match just six minutes later, as he was taken down in the box and the referee pointed to the penalty spot. He stepped up to take the penalty himself, and smashed it into the top left corner of the goal for his fifth goal of the USL Championship season. In the match, he maintained a 70% passing percentage as well as having three shots on target, winning eight duels, and five fouls for his team. Obregón also appeared off the bench in Brooklyn’s penultimate match of the season this week, playing 13 minutes at the end of a 2-1 loss to Birmingham Legion.
This is the third time Obregón was named to the team of the week this season, appearing in the starting XI in Week 1 and a bench nomination in Week 19/20.
